What About a Stay at Home Date?
There are resources available all over the internet and in books which will give you fun dating ideas and tips. But at times you are simply too tired to go anywhere or too broke to go out for a date. After all, it is not easy on the pocket to enjoy a fully loaded weekend date. In such a scenario, the best place where you can enjoy and have as much fun as anywhere else is your own home sweet home. Surprised? Don’t be. People have almost forgotten the ‘at home’ option for a date. There are hundreds of things you can do at home.
Rent a Movie
Going for a movie at a theatre can be a costly affair. The admission, popcorn and drinks will cost you a small fortune. To avoid this you can rent a movie or maybe borrow it from a friend. If they are already showing your favorite movie on TV, you both can plan to watch it together. If both of you are movie buffs, you can start your date in the afternoon and have a movie marathon. Star Wars, Rocky, Pink Panther or any other movie with sequels is a good option. You can make your own pop corn and add some home made lemonade. You can have as much fun as at the movies at almost half the cost. Along with being economical, the main advantage of the “movie at home” option is that you have the comfort and privacy of home. You can hold hands and lounge about casually without anybody bothering you.
Food
If you enjoy cooking, then there is nothing more satisfying than cooking something up for your date. If your date enjoys it as well, you both can have a good time in the kitchen helping each other roll out delicacies. If it means staying in the kitchen for most of the time and you do not intend to do that then you can have a nice romantic summer barbeque. Men enjoy it as much as the ladies do.
Other Activities
If you are too bored sitting around on the couch watching the Idiot box, you can always give your brains a little rip. Play scrabble or solve puzzles together. Chess is also a good option. If this does not sound exciting enough you can always have the good old deck of playing cards. Besides games you can have a dance session as well. Request and play songs according to each other’s choice and boogie the night away. Go retro. A little bit of Salsa or jive gets the adrenaline flowing. Go out for a late night drive. If there is a secluded over the hill spot somewhere, go there and watch the lights dimming away in the city.
So the next time you are short of money or simply too bored, you know what to do.
